Our Beliefs

7 Core Beliefs

The core beliefs within Mission Grove Church represent what we believe to be core elements of the Christian faith. We expect all members of Mission Grove Church to affirm these doctrines. In essential beliefs we have unity (Ephesians 4:5-6). In lower-essential beliefs we have liberty (Romans 14:1, 4, 12, 22). In all our beliefs we show love (John 13:34-35; 1 Corinthians 13:1-7).

God 

We believe in the trinity and that there is one true, holy God, eternally existing in three persons – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He is an intelligent, spiritual, and personal Being. He is the Creator, Redeemer, and Ruler of the universe. He is all-powerful and all-knowing.

Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ came to earth as both fully God and fully man, lived a perfect life, died on the cross as payment for our sins, was buried and rose again on the third day. He is now seated at the right hand of the Father interceding for humanity.

Holy Spirit

As Spirit, God exalts Christ and convicts of sin, righteousness and judgment. The Spirit indwells every believer at the moment of salvation and enlightens and empowers the surrendered believer for service.

The Bible

The Scriptures are true, inspired from God, authoritative, inerrant, and sufficient. The Bible is composed of 66 books of the Old and New Testament, written by men divinely inspired and is God’s revelation of Himself to man.

People

People are created in the image of God, separated from God because of sin, but then reconciled to God through salvation in Christ. Together, believers form the body of Christ, called the Church.

Salvation

A person receives salvation when he or she believes that Jesus is Lord and that His death, burial, and resurrection is the only means through which one’s sins can be forgiven and eternally saved.

Christ Is Returning

According to His promise, Jesus Christ will return personally and visibly in glory to the earth. God, in His own time and in His own way, will bring the world to its appropriate end. The unrighteous will be consigned to Hell, and the righteous will dwell forever in Heaven with the Lord.
